The owner of a large company, who was about to take a trip overseas, dropped into his offi

ce early in the morning to make some arrangements. He was telephoning for a ticket for his trip when the night watchman came in, who was back from work, and said" Good morning" to the owner. Then he told him that he had dreamed that very night of his employer's(雇主的)plane crashing(坠毁) after taking off. The owner was surprised to hear this. He decided, however, there was something in what the night watchman said. He postponed(推迟) his trip.

If possible, the garden should be near the house, so the gardener can work in it whenever they are free.

Soils for vegetables should be easily broken up and porous (多孔的) for quick water drainage and good aeration(透气). Usually the home owner has little choice in the type he can choose.

Fortunately, many vegetables can be grown on poor soils if the soils are properly prepared.

If your complaint is a just one, the shopkeeper may offer to replace or repair the faulty article. You may find this an attractive solution. In certain cases you may have the right to refuse the goods and ask for your money back, but this is only when you have hardly used the goods and have acted at once. If you have suffered some special loss, if for example a new washing machine tears your clothes, you might receive money to replace them. If the shopkeeper refuses to give you money, ask for advice from the Consumers’ Association.
